Bean Bar: for places that people meet and talk Zambuka: reference to medieval hurdy-gurdy & sailboats

Covering an enormous breadth of diverse physical disciplines from hip-hop to ballet to mitzvah, butoh and circus, the five dancers of Bean Bar Zambuka created this work with choreographer Jennifer Mascall from scored improvisations. Part narrative, part abstract, supported by a set by Bill Pechet and music composed by Doug Macaulay, the dance is kinesthetic and very present tense. Presented by Mascall Dance in association with the Dancing on the Edge Festival.
