Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg Tara Cheyenne Performance Vancouver, BC Saturday July 14, 2012 @ 7PM Firehall Arts Centre 280 E. Cordova St. ![]() Tara Cheyenne
Friedenberg by Chris Randle
First seen as an excerpt at the 2005 Dancing on the Edge Festival, where it received the People’s Choice Award, this insanely popular show by the wondrous Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg is back! We all remember that guy from high school: Black Sabbath pouring from his headphones, draped in standard army-issue clothing. Not much of a talker. You may have made fun of him or, at best, ignored him. In this latest dance-theatre hybrid, the audience is reeled through the fast-paced, painful world of high school as seen through the eyes of Ivan, a young man driven to find out how he fits in. Through heavy music, a lot of head-banging and a smidge of angst-ridden poetry, Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg sheds light on this social reject and reconciles the differences between us and him. Tara Cheyenne Performance will be taking bANGER to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival August 3 to 12, 2012. Tara
Cheyenne Performance
is devoted to the creation and dissemination of highly physical, character-driven
performance that uniquely blends movement and text, dance and theatre. The
company’s vision is to create works that speak to people on levels of common
human experience, our own comic-tragic behavior, and our lives in movement.
Tara is a Vancouver based performer, creator, dance-theatre educator, choreographer, and the Artistic Director of DanStaBat Performance Society (doing business as Tara Cheyenne Performance). Tara started dancing at age 3, attended ballet school, theatre school at the bANGER Firehall Arts Centre 280 E. Cordova St. Saturday July 14, 2012 @ 7PM |
