Western Canadian Premieres – Following a hugely popular sold out show at Canada Dance Festival 2012, Ottawa Dance Directive’s resident company, Compagnie ODD, presents a mixed evening of work by artistic director Yvonne Coutts, and guest choreographers Noam Gagnon and Tedd Robinson. Interpreting the works are dancers Charles Cardin-Bourbeau, Jasmine Inns, Marilou Lépine, Simon Renaud, and Riley Sims.

Fracture

A duet for two women, Fracture cuts between the fables of our psyche and the function of physical presence. Imagistically, the work takes a cue from the photography of American photographers Diane Arbus and Cindy Sherman.

Robinson further researches his fascination with our indirect lives. In other words, how we stumble through our lives unaware of anything except what we run into. Blind relationships cause unknowing hurt. With music by Charles Quevillon.

How far would you go to not be alone? Caught in a world of longing, sexual behaviors and methods of seduction; the lens reveals a universe where absurdity reigns and the irony of desperate times creates desperate measures.
