Be a part of Canada's vibrant dance scene with the Dancing on the Edge Festival. Heading into our 37th year, we are proud to be the longest running professional Contemporary Dance Festival in Canada. We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors and help us continue showcasing ground breaking dance.
Our Mission and Values:
The Dancing on the Edge Festival Society strives to create a place where contemporary dance artists are supported in the creation, development, and presentation of artistically exciting choreography and where audiences discover and enjoy dance in both traditional and non-traditional settings.
As a Board Director, you will:
- Drive the success of our mission and strategic goals.
- Uphold Board conduct and stewardship.
- Support and oversee our Artistic Producer’s efforts.
Our ideal candidates will be:
- Committed and reliable
- Effective communicators and ambassadors
- Passionate about learning and bringing sound judgment
- Team players who build relationships with integrity
We seek dynamic volunteers with a passion for the arts and any of the following skills:
- Arts/non-profit management
- Fundraising
- IT
- Professional Dance
- Marketing
- Tourism
As Board Member you will commit to:
- Serve a two-year term (renewable)
- Attend bi-monthly Board meetings
- Participate in at least one committee
- Engage in fundraising and other Board events
- Dedicate approximately 3-5 hours per month
- Attend performances during the festival

The Dancing on the Edge Festival is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations where they lived and gathered together for thousands of years.
